Kristin Kimmelman is the Appellate Chief for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Western District of Texas. Ms. Kimmelman represents clients before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and supervises attorneys providing research and writing support to trial attorneys throughout the Western District of Texas. She obtained her juris doctor from New York University School of Law, clerked for the Honorable David Briones of the Western District of Texas, and was an Equal Justice Works Fellow with Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services before joining the FPD’s Office in 2012.
