ATTENDANCE

May I bring my spouse or a "plus-one" to the Conference?  Yes, there is no additional charge to register a spouse or companion.  
May he/she attend CLE sessions and claim the hours?  Yes, at no additional charge.
May he/she attend the luncheon and socials?  Yes, appropriate charges will apply for ticketed events.

Be sure to include your spouse/companion when you register online (begins in April) so that a name badge is generated for him/her. 

A name badge must be shown for admittance to every session, meal, and event.


ATTIRE

What should I/my spouse/companion wear to the Conference and socials?

  • Business Casual attire is appropriate for Conference meetings, the welcome reception, and for plenary and breakout sessions.
  • Casual attire is appropriate for the Friday evening social event at Q2 Stadium:  Lasso and Lassos (dress as your favorite Ted Lasso character; wear your favorite FC team’s colors; or show off your Texas Western pride!)


CLE

Will
CLE credits be awarded for attending the Conference?

Yes, credit hours for this program will be determined by the State Bars of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
When the credit hours are approved, the appropriate forms will be available on this website at the CLE Tab, and during the conference, the forms will be available in the Conference Headquarters Room:  At the far end of the Urban Restaurant, Lobby Level at the Westin Austin at The Domain.

The Conference does not apply for accreditation in states other than Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.


MEALS AND SOCIALS

 

What meals/socials are planned for the Conference?  How much do they cost?

  • Chief Judge Reception, Thursday evening, May 9.  There is no charge, but you must select tickets during online registration to confirm your attendance (max. allowed is 2 tickets).
  • Hot breakfast buffets, Thursday, May 9 (judges), Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. There is no charge, but you must select the option during online registration to confirm your attendance (max. allowed is 2 vouchers).
  • Conference Luncheon, Friday, May 10.  Tickets are $35 per person and may be purchased during online registration (max. allowed is 2 tickets).
  • Conference Social, Friday night, May 10. Tickets are $65 per person, including dinner and entertainment, and may be purchased during online registration (max. allowed is 2 tickets).

REGISTRATION

How do I register for the Conference?

You will receive an email in April when registration is added to this website.  At that time, you will confirm your badge information and select sessions and social events you wish to attend.  There is no additional registration fee for your "plus one" to attend conference sessions and receive CLE credit.  Appropriate charges will apply for ticketed social events. 

Once onsite at the Westin, you may pick up your meeting materials and credentials in the Conference Headquarters Room:  At the far end of the Urban Restaurant, Lobby Level at the Westin Austin at The Domain.

Conference staff will be available to assist you beginning Wednesday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. through noon on Saturday, May 11. Laptops and printers, as well as charging stations for your portable devices, will be arranged in the Conference Headquarters Room for your convenience.

Note:  Credentials for your spouse/plus-one and any social events purchased for him/her will be placed in your registration envelope.  Your spouse/plus-one will NOT have a separate registration packet or amenity.


How much does it cost to attend the Conference?

Expenses to consider:

  • Registration fee (includes CLE, the Chief Judge Welcome Reception Thursday evening, and breakfast on Friday and Saturday) = $300
  • 1 conference luncheon Friday (optional) = $35 per person
  • 1 conference social Friday night (optional) = $65 per person
  • Lodging for 2 or 3 nights
